Succeed In Direct Marketing
Although direct marketing is a terribly difficult business to break into, you can attain all of your goals if you are able to formulate a detailed plan. First and foremost, you will need to establish who your targeted customer base consists of. If you want to sell your products and services to married women under the age of 40, it is imperative that you find a way to generate thousands of leads. Even if you are selling the best product in the world, you can only expect a small percentage of the prospects that you get in contact with to actually make a sale.
Once you have developed a list of the people that are the most likely to respond to your script, you should start thinking about how and where you will get your leads. Of course, the sweepstake lead is by far the most affordable and accessible type of lead that you can get your hands on. If you can manage to draft an award winning sales letter and come up with the money to pay for postage, half of the battle will already be won.
The hardest part about direct marketing is the wait. It may be months before you are able to figure out if your direct mail campaign was a success or a flop. The inquiries will start to trickle in, then you will receive a veritable downpour of calls. Hopefully, you will be well prepared to ship out your products and collect all of your payments.
